SRINAGAR: Residents of Zaffran Colony, Achanambal, Zewan, and Pantha Chowk areas have expressed resentment over unscheduled power cuts in the area.

Hilal Ahmed Bhat, a resident of Zafran Colony said despite payment of electricity bills on time, the area witnesses frequent power outages.

“During evening hours, we hardly receive electricity. Studies of children are affected due to unscheduled cuts,” he said.

Shabir Ahmed Bhat, a resident of Zewan Bala said that for past several weeks the unscheduled and long power cuts in the region have been giving tough time to the people.

Lateef Ahmed Mir, another resident expressed a similar concern. “We pay a fee, perhaps more than other areas and yet there is no electricity. Despite being a metered areas, we don’t receive round the clock electricity. Now if there is any schedule for cuts, that too is not being properly implemented,” he said.

“We request the chief engineer PDD  to look into the issue,” the locals said.
