Work as team to ensure significant progress in priority areas of Govt: DDC Anantnag to officers

ANANTNAG: The District Development Commissioner Anantnag, Dr. Piyush Singla today directed the district, sectoral and other concerned officers to work as a team to ensure significant progress in priority areas of the Govt.

The DDC said this while reviewing the achievements of the district in Forest Rights Act, Vaccination, Sampling and CAB enforcement, Municipal Works, District Capex, Back to Village, Construction of toilets along Yatra Route, progress in PMAY (U), allotment of works to eligible unemployed youth in Panchayats, resolution of Migrants’ complaints, availability of playfields, lighting facilities along KP Road and other thrust areas.

Pertinent to mention, the DDC has chaired a series of meetings so far and is taking periodic review of the progress made on ground in these key sectors.

Calling these sectors as top priorities of administration, the DDC impressed upon the officers to expedite the ongoing work so that desirable results are achieved in a time bound manner.

Directing the concerned officers to make coordinated efforts for smooth implementation of Mission Youth Programme, the DDC said that Youth clubs, playfields and self employment schemes and various other key initiatives of the government will empower the youth of the district. He sought a detailed report on availability of fields in the district so that necessary reconciliation can be taken up.

Directions were passed to the concerned officers to process and forward the claims received under Forest Rights so that rights under Act are soon conferred on the genuine claimants. SDMs were impressed upon to strictly monitor the working of Subdivision Level Committee and ensure the Forest, Revenue and Block authorities work in full coordination for its smooth implementation.

Reviewing the status of toilet construction facility on Yatra routes, the DDC directed for connecting those with piped source of water and making them functional adding their maintenance must be ensured.

Taking stock of B2V works, the DDC exhorted upon expediting the allotment process so that they are completed within stipulated time frame. The completion of these works is pivotal for overall development and welfare of rural areas, he remarked.

Stress was also laid for increasing the pace of work under District Capex works besides monitoring their progress on ground.

Directions were passed for increasing pace of work in projects taken up in municipal areas.

Dr. Singla said the Govt. is taking PMAY (U) scheme as top priority and directed the EOs of MCs to swiftly complete all formalities so that the first installment is released to the deserving and eligible beneficiaries.

On the occasion, the BDOs were directed to undertake the registration process of eligible unemployed youth for allotment of works upto Rs. 3 lacs from each Panchayat Halqa. The process should be done smoothly and in a transparent way with due regard to the procedure and guidelines, he added.

Regarding Migrants’ Complaints resolution, the DDC said the J&K Migrant Immovable Property (Preservation, Protection and Restraint on Distress Sales) Act must be implemented in letter and spirit and all the grievances received under JK Migrant Grievance Portal must be responded within the stipulated timeframe.

Health authorities were directed to expedite pace of registration under PMJAY_Sehat besides continuing vaccination drives for both 18-44 and above 45 categories with full momentum.

Instructions were also passed to enforce CAB at markets and congested places so that any surge in Covid cases is averted.

The meeting was informed that a total of more than 1000 works under B2V have been authorized in the district. As many as 277 works have been allotted, 179 are under execution while 66 have been completed so far.

The officers of PDD were directed to submit a detailed report of lights, poles, wires and other logistics required for proper lighting of KP Road and Municipal areas so that the work can be allotted to respective agencies/departments.
