UDHAMPUR: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai today visited Block Chanunta where she attended a weekly Block Diwas meeting at Panchayat Panjgrain, listening to public issues and demands.
Additional District Development Commissioner Ghan Sham Singh, Sub Divisional Magistrate Ramnagar Rafiq Ahmad Jaral, Assistant Commissioner Development Dr. Ranjeet Singh Kotwal and other officers, along with the general public of adjoining panchayats participated in the weekly Block Diwas program.
The general public of the area presented their demands and issues, seeking maintenance of local roads, provision for a new bus service from Udhampur to Nagrota Panj Grain, upgradation of High School Nagrota Panj Grain to a Higher Secondary Level, Construction of a footbridge over local nallah at Saroiyan Grat, establishment of health centers with government buildings, construction of a road for Simti Village and construction of a boundary wall for GHS Nagrota.
Responding to the demands, the DC addressed many grievances on the spot by giving directions to officers of concerned departments.
The remaining demands were recommended to the concerned quarters for addressing them as per budgetary provisions.
The DC urged the youth of the area to register themselves under the Vishwakarma scheme to avail the benefits of the government scheme.
