KISHTWAR: To redress the grievances of people at their doorstep, Deputy Commissioner of Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav today spearheaded the Public Grievance Redressal Camp at Kulna Palmar held as a part of the weekly Block Diwas initiative.
The primary objective was to listen to the demands and issues of the residents of Kulna and its adjoining areas and ensure prompt redress of the same.
Among others, the camp was attended by Sarpanch Upper Palmar Shahzada Begum, Sarpanch Lower Palmar C Vijay Kumar, DSWO Kishtwar Zubair Ahmed Lone, BDO Kishtwar/Palmar Sumeet Singh, CAO Kishtwar Amjad Hussain Malik, CHO Kishtwar Sajjid Mustafa, ExEn PWD Marwah Mohammad Aslam Lone, ZEO Nagseni Nizam-ud-din, NT Palmar Praban Kumar, TSWO Kishtwar Rajesh Sharma, HTO Palmar Dr. Vijay Kumar, and field functionaries from various departments.
Approximately 250 local residents participated in the Public Grievance Redressal Camp, voicing concerns predominantly related to infrastructural development in health, education, road connectivity, besides augmentation of water and power supply, along with enhancing public service delivery in the region.
Key grievances highlighted encompassed the need for improved road connectivity to Kulna, Malik Pora, Telmil, and Khattan, infrastructural enhancements in the education sector, including desks and construction of boundary walls for GMS Kulna and establishment of an Animal Husbandry Centre and a Health and Wellness Centre at Kulna and other places.
Significant strides were made in redressing the grievances, with several concerns resolved on the spot in consultation with the respective officers.
ZEO Nagseni mentioned that due to land availability issues, the development of the school ground and building construction has not commenced yet. However, funds for the boundary wall and desks are available and will be allocated to the school shortly.
Field functionaries from the Jal Shakti department assured the timely completion of the ongoing Water Supply Scheme (WSS) while the DC Kishtwar instructed to expedite the process.
PDD functionaries reported that the required number of poles has been allocated, and the department is diligently working to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the winter sessions in this region.
The Deputy Commissioner, in his address, highlighted the successful resolution of demands of people of Panchayat Upper Palmar for FSC & CA Extension Counter Centre and CSC raised during previous Block Diwas programs held at Palmar.
Additionally, he assured swift action on the improvement of road connectivity at Kulna by pooling out the efforts and funds from the concerned agencies.
He also encouraged people to look into the feasibility of the land for the additional School building in the area to address Educational Infrastructure concerns.
He asked people and PRIs to identify an appropriate building in consultation with Naib Tehsildar to initiate the process for establishment of Ayush Health & Wellness Centre in the area.
Responding to the demand of people, NT Palmar was asked to coordinate with the Red Cross Society to ensure availability of the stretcher and other accessories under SDRF kit in the area.
ASHA workers were directed to utilize the local resources to facilitate pregnant or expecting mothers, and encouraged to utilize the Patient Sarai at DH Kishtwar for the convenience of these mothers.
Dr. Devansh Yadav stressed the importance of community participation in initiatives like “My School My Pride” for enhancing local education infrastructure. He also urged agricultural stakeholders to engage actively in upcoming Holistic Agriculture Development Programme HADP camps from 6th-14th January 2024, emphasizing the significance of various farmer-oriented schemes for livelihood enhancement.
Furthermore, the DC emphasized the establishment of Feed Processing Units through the formation of FPOs to encourage socio-economic upliftment of ST members.
Highlighting the importance of education for the ST community children, the Deputy Commissioner stressed on giving priority to education of the backward sections of society through the participation of community members and fostering inclusive growth in the region.
