SRINAGAR: Two militants were killed in a gunfight with the government forces in a gunfight in Nowgam area on the outskirts of Srinagar on Friday, police said.
A police spokesman said two militants were killed in the gunfight that broke out in Nowgam today morning. He said their identities and group affiliations were being ascertained.
According to reports, the gunfight broke out today morning Sutsoo Kalan area of Chattergam early Friday.
Quoting a senior police officer, it said an M4 and an INSAS rifle were recovered from the possession of the slain militants.
The report said that five soldiers were wounded in the gunfight.
