Forest Rights Act: Training for Master trainers held at Samba

SAMBA: A district level meeting and a daylong Training Programme on Forest Rights Act (FRA) was today held here under the Chairmanship of District Development Commissioner (DDC), Samba, Rohit Khajuria.

During the meeting, directions were issued to all the participants to constitute block level and sub division level committees for effective implementation of the Forest Rights Act 2006.

 A training programme on the provisions of FRA 2006 and Rules 2008 was also organized for Master Trainers consisting of Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), BDOs, Range Officers and Block Forest Officers.

Speaking on the occasion, the DDC directed the concerned officers to strictly follow the timeline of the training schedule to ensure thorough awareness of the Forest Rights at the ground level. He also directed them to involve the newly elected District Development Council members & BDC chairpersons, besides PRIs for spreading mass awareness among the general public.

The DDC urged upon the concerned officers to ensure that community rights are given priority over individual rights. while dealing with issues on the ground.

Meanwhile, Divisional Forest Officer, Som Dutt Khajuria imparted detailed awareness to the participants about the Forest Rights Act and the procedure to deliver the rights on the ground.

The Master Trainers were taught the procedure for conducting the training of District and Sub Divisional level Forest Rights Committees.

Copies of the Forest Rights Act were also distributed among the Master Trainers.

Among others present were Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Jitendra Mishra; SDM Ghagwal, Ramkesh Sharma; SDM Vijaypur Chander Parkash Kotwal; Assistant Commissioner Development,, Sidharath Dhiman; District Panchayat Officer Piyush Dhotra; Chairman block Development Councils, Block Development Officers besides other field staff of forest department .
