Kulgam: At least three rounds of funeral prayers were held for slain Lashkar-e-Toiba militant Bilal Ahmad in Yaripora area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Saturday.
Reports said three back-to-back funerals were held to accommodate thousands of people who had marched to Tantraypora village of Yaripora to take part in his last rites.
An eyewitness said that several militants surfaced during the funeral and offered a gun salute to Ahmad who was killed in a brief shootout with the forces in Achabal area of adjacent Anantnag district.
A police official said that a cop was wounded in the shootout.
