SRINAGAR: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and the party’s candidate for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls Khalid Jehangir on Monday requested the Union Home Minister to take strict action against criminals who threatened the staff of Greater Kashmir newspaper.

“Requesting @HMOIndia to take strict action against criminals who made threats calls to the most prominent newspaper of our state @GreaterKashmir. We stand in solidarity with @GreaterKashmir,” tweeted Jehangir.

On Sunday, the Jammu bureau of Greater Kashmir received several calls from an unidentified caller who threatened to shoot down the entire staff of the publication.
The caller said he would barge into the office of the publication both in Jammu as well as in Srinagar, and shoot down the entire staff.

The publication has lodged a written complaint at Ghandi Nagar police station and the police have assured to “track the man down within a day”.
