Sopore: Thousands of people on Tuesday participated in the last rites of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militant Liyaqat Ahmad Lone alias Umar Khalid killed along with his associate in a gunfight in Handwara village.
Reports said thousands joined the slain militant’s funeral at his native Harwan village in Sopore area of Baramulla district.
Earlier today, Lone and his associate Furqan of Langate were killed in a gunfight in Galoora area of north Kashmir’s Handwara area.
Lone is survived by three children and a wife.
