PULWAMA: Thousands of people participated in the funeral prayers of slain militant Shabir Ahmad Dar at his native village of Samboora in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday.
Dar was killed in a firefight with the government forces at Babagund on the edge of Pulwama town.
As the word about the killing of Dar spread, large number of people from the adjoining and far-off places gathered at Samboora to participate in his last rites.
After three rounds of funeral prayers, Dar was interred at his ancestral graveyard.
Another militant injured in the gunfight is being treated at SMHS hospital in Srinagar where his condition is stated to be very critical.
