SRINAGAR: The market checking teams of Legal Metrology Department conducted 392 inspections of the traders dealing with retail sale of vegetables, Kiryana, Santizers and Masks in various districts of the Valley.
During the inspection 19 business outlets were found violating the provisions of Legal Metrology Act, 2009 and Packaged Commodity Rules, 2011. The traders were found overcharging for Masks, Santizers, L. P. G, Vegetables and other essential commodities and sale of packaged commodities in violation of labeling norms.
17 traders confessed their guilt on spot and a fine of Rs. 10,900/- was realized from them.
