Arrangements for Jumat-ul-Vida, Shab Qadar, Eid-ul-Fitr reviewed at Ganderbal

GANDERBAL: The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal today chaired a meeting to review the arrangements made for multiple festivals including Jumat-ul-Vida, Shab Qadar, Eid-ul-Fitr in coming days.

The meeting was attended by CPO Anika Mushtaq, SDM Kangan, Executive Engineers of PHE, PDD, DySP Traffic, AD food, EO Municipality, Tehsildars and other concerned district officers.

ADDC took department- wise review of arrangements to be made in view of Jumat-Ul-Vida, Shab Qadar and Eid-Ul-Fitr and called for making foolproof arrangements for the auspicious days especially at prominent places where congregation prayers would be offered.

The Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Department was asked to ensure availability of essential commodities including ration and LPG, while PDD and PHE were asked to take advance measures for uninterrupted electricity and drinking water supply    during the festival days.

Regarding market checking, ADDC directed the concerned to intensify market checking to keep check on profiteering, hoarding and overcharging by shopkeepers across the district.

While reviewing the availability of essential commodities, the AD FCS&CA informed that 800 quintals of rice, 650 quintals of atta besides sufficient number of LPG cylinders are available in the district.

The meeting was also informed that Animal Husbandry has kept more than four lakh birds available across the district for sale at designated centers.

 Emphasizing on the need for pre and post sanitation drives during multiple festivals, Municipal Committee Ganderbal was directed to ensure cleanliness and sanitation in and around the Masjids and Eid Ghas, besides roads and streets leading to places where congregation prayers would be offered.
