NEW DELHI: BJP leader and party’s Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy on Friday asked the part to turn its swanky office on the DDU Marg into a hospital.

Earlier, he asked the Prime Minister Modi to delegate the conduct of the Covid war to senior leader Nitin Gadkari who has earned a reputation for efficiency and delivery as a union minister.

Swamy tweeted saying that “In view of the situation arising from Coronavirus Pandemic, I suggest that top 6 of the 8 floors[6+ 2 in basement] Party Office building in Delhi be converted into a hospital. BJP still has the old offices in Ashoka Road Govt bungalows which can be used for Party. Noble gesture!!”

On Wednesday he suggested that the Prime Minister should make Gadkari in charge of the COVID-19 management of the country. Warning that the third COVID-19 wave could target children more, he urged the government to ‘delegate the conduct of this war to Gadkari.’

”India will survive Coronavirus Pandemic as it did Islamic invaders and British Imperialists. We could face one more wave that targets children unless strict precautions now are taken. Modi should therefore delegate the conduct of this war to Gadkari. Relying on PMO is useless,” Swamy tweeted.

Notably, both Gadkari and Swamy are believed to be close to the powerful RSS, BJP’s ideological fountainhead.

Nagpur is the headquarters of Sangh and also the Parliamentary constituency of Gadkari.

Though RSS functionaries don’t agree officially, sources agree that there is no way the Sangh will not be “upset” and “uncomfortable” over the grim situation in the country

“Naturally everyone is worried but now is not the time (to criticise)

It will not help anyone, things should come under control first. There is no way anyone can defend this type of a situation,” they say.
