KULGAM: The Department of Social Welfare Kulgam today organised a daylong training cum awareness program under National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR) at Town hall here.
During the programme, the participants including volunteers’ frontline workers and a number of NGO besides the children of various orphanages participated.
Speaking on the occasion, DSWO Kulgam highlighted the importance of capacity building of frontline workers through this type of training program.
Experts from the Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences Srinagar delivered lectures on safeguarding against drug addiction and counseling and sociological engagement of drug addicts.
It was informed that the program is part of a four day long series of capacity building training programmes organised by the Social Welfare department Kulgam.
