SRINAGAR: Deputy Mayor, Srinagar Municipal corporation (SMC), Sheikh Imran was injured after he was assaulted by a councillor during a meeting in Srinagar on Monday.
According to news agency GNS, the incident took place following a heated verbal argument during a councillor meeting.
He said that a councillor threw some object at Imran during the meeting following which he was shifted to a hospital.
Police has taken cognizance of the incident, said an official.
