Srinagar: Six Chinese grenades were found along NH-44 in Srinagar during road opening exercise on Monday by troops of 73 battalion, as per PRO CRPF.
The official said that the grenades were found near a divider of the NH-44. He further said that the grenades were kept in a sandbag, and the alacrity of troopers averted the incident from taking place on a busy highway.
It was said that since there was a lot of rush on the highway, the grenades were not demolished in-situ.
However, the grenades were later handed over to the police for disposal, the official said.
