KUPWARA: Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Karnah, Dr. Gulzar Ahmad Rather today convened a meeting of concerned officers/officials and gas dealers to review the stock position of essential commodities including ration and LPG supply in the border subdivision ahead of winter.
The meeting was informed that there is a sufficient stock of essential commodities available in the border subdivision to meet the requirements of the people during winter season. The stock has been dumped for the period up to June 2022 which includes 13030 quintal rice, 1173 quintal Atta, 122 quintal sugar, besides, 64000 ltr. kerosene oil and 6570 gas cylinders are also available in the area.
The meeting was also informed that an additional supply of 20000 quintal rice and 24000 gas cylinders will also be dumped in coming days to ensure adequate supply of essential commodities for the people of the sub division.
Meanwhile, the SDM stressed upon the concerned officers and dealers to ensure availability of sufficient stock of essential commodities in Karnah sub division which remains cut off from the rest of the district most of the time during the winter period. He directed them to stock additional supplies of the commodities required at an earliest so that the people could not face any inconvenience.
SHO Tangdar and Naib Tehsildar Tangdar were also present in the meeting.
