COVID-19: Doctor among 12 persons test positive in J&K, toll reaches 380

SRINAGAR: The positive cases of deadly Coronavirus has witnessed further increase in Jammu and Kashmir as 12 more persons were tested positive on Tuesday in the Union Territory, taking the toll of total positive cases to 380.

Government Spokesman, Rohit Kansal in a tweet informed that more 12 persons have tested positive in J&K, among them 11 are from Kashmir division while as one is from Jammu division.

He further added that 10 more persons have recovered and total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir are now 380 while 324 are from Kashmir division and 56 from Jammu division.

“12 new cases- 11 from Kashmir 1 from Jammu division (Kathua). 10 recoveries too. Total cases now 380. Jammu Division-56 and Kashmir Division-324.” Kansal Tweeted.

Officials said that among today’s 12 cases, ten are from Shopian, one from Baramulla and one from Kathua.

Dr G H Yatoo, Nodal Officer for Covid-19 at SKIMS told –KNO that 11 persons were tested positive at SKIMS today. He further informed that none among the patients was discharged from the hospital today.

Officials in Shopian said that among new 10 cases, 8 are from Hirpora and two from Bemnipora.  The eight positive new cases from Hirpora include five females and three men, officials said, adding that the female positive cases are 20, 40, 45, 55 and 60 years old while as the male positive cases are 18, 25 and 50 years while as from Bemnipora there is a 22 year old youth and 50 year old lady.

Dr Salim Khan, Nodal Officer for COVID-19 at Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar told—KNO that on Tuesday, 230 samples were tested at CD hospital lab and today 143 more samples were received among them reports of 46 samples are under process.

Dr Tabassum Deputy Medical Superintendent at JLNM hospital said that no new patient was added to the hospital and all 25 patients who are undergoing treatment at the hospital are recovering.

Dr Farhat Nodal Officer for covid-19 in Anantnag district told—KNO that so far, 556 samples have been taken at GMC Anantnag and among them reports of over 100 samples are awaited.

Dr Jameel Ahmad Dar, Medical Superintendent at DH Pulwama said that samples of 49 more persons were taken on Tuesday. He said that so far, 675 samples have been taken at DH Pulwama, so far reports of 439 were received while nine among them were tested positive and reports of 236 are yet to come.
