Valedictory event marks end of month long National Road Safety campaign in Samba

SAMBA: District Development Commissioner Samba, Rohit Khajuria, today chaired the valedictory function of 32nd Road Safety Month-(Sadak Suraksha Jeevan Raksha) campaign here at District Administrative park, Nandini Hills.

District heads of line departments, PRI members, Motor vehicle sponsors, Local Public and Government Degree College, students attended the event.

The students were carrying placards with slogans and presented a nukkad Natak, appealing people to follow road safety measures to avoid accidents participated in the programme to create awareness about road safety rules.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Rakesh Sharma; Assistant Commissioner Revenue Jitender Mishra; Chief Planning Officer, Sukhleen Kour; Chief Medical Officer, Rajinder Samyal; District Informatic Officer, Sanjeev Kapoor; Assistant Road Transport Officer, Rehana Tabassum besides  District Information Officer Ajay Sharma, other district officers, the principal and staff of GDC and general public in large numbers were present.

On the Occasion DDC Samba said that the aim of the programme is to inculcate traffic awareness among motorists, commuters, pedestrians including college and school goers and to make them aware about safety measures to be taken while on road. He also assured that in coming days parking facilities shall be provided at main market stops including samba, Vijaypur and Bari Brahmana which will note only easy daily commutation by also help in reducing the road fatalities.

Later, in the programme DDC Samba and other special invites distributed prizes, mementos, certificates among the participants, students, officers and sponsors 

The event ended with cultural items, skits on road safety theme, speeches by experts and refreshments.
