New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s visit to LJP leader Chirag Paswan’s residence on the first death anniversary of his father Ram Vilas Paswan today prompted renewed speculations about the Opposition’s efforts to reach out to the Dalit leader from Bihar.
Though senior BJP leader Rajnath Singh and RJD president Lalu Prasad Yadav also met Chirag to pay tributes to his father and their late colleague, Rahul’s visit created buzz.
The visit came at a time when distance between Chirag and the BJP has widened beyond repair, some say, especially after the ruling party dumped him for the LJP faction headed by his uncle Pashupati Kumar Paras, now a minister in the Narendra Modi Cabinet.
