CHANDIGARH: Punjab Congress Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs will meet at the residence of Rajya Sabha member Partap Singh Bajwa in Delhi today. Officially, the ongoing farmers’ issue will be on top of the agenda. The issue is likely to figure in the monsoon session of Parliament beginning Monday.

Former PPCC president Bajwa, who was in Chandigarh, left for Delhi this morning.

Incidentally, the meeting comes a day after Bajwa, Punjab Speaker Rana K.P. Singh and Cabinet Minister Rana Gurmeet Sodhi called on Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh at his residence here on Saturday evening amidst signs of dissent over probable elevation of Navjot Singh Sidhu as Punjab PCC chief.

Anandpur Sahib MP Manish Tewari, considered close to the CM, on Saturday tweeted Capt Amarinder Singh and Partap Bajwa would make a good team ‘for the future’. The cryptic tweet had everyone thinking as to what Tewari’s ‘the future’ remark meant

By the Saturday evening, Bajwa, whom Sidhu met on Friday, was seen sitting with the CM and his close friends — Rana KP Singh, minister Rana Gurmit Sodhi and CM’s adviser BIS Chahal.

Already, the CM has been meeting leaders over the past days in a show of strength while publicly maintaining he will defer to any decision Sonia took.
