SRINAGAR: The retired employees of Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation on Wednesday held a protest at Press Colony Srinagar to demand release of arrears, which according to them are pending since 2006.

Mustafa Beigh, a JKTDC retired employee told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that they had gathered here to demand the release of arrears, which have been pending since 2006.

He said that when they got retired the concerned department has released the pending arears since then even as the Hight Court has ordered the release of pending arears in their favour.

“We have even won the contempt of court case, still our management is not ready to pay us our pending arears, which is our right. We have used our blood and sweat to build this department, yet they are not paying heed to our genuine demands,” he said.

He said that every retired employee of JKTDC has a family to feed and since they are retired now, they do not have any other source to feed their families.

“We appeal to the Lt. Governor and the concerned official to interfere in this matter and help them get their money released. This is our money, and we have every right to demand for release of the same,” he said.
