87 Languishing projects approved for Doda

15 completed; work on 65 in full swing: DDC

DODA: Giving new impetus to the developmental scenario, the government’s Languishing project scheme has started bearing fruits in this mountainous district.

As per District Development Commissioner, Dr Sagar D Doifode, J&K government has approved 87 Projects, costing Rs 169 crore, for Doda under the scheme.

 “Out of these, 15 have been completed and work on 65 others is targeted to complete this year on priority, while remaining seven are at tendering stage” the DDC said.

Majority of the projects are of PWD and PHE Sectors, which mainly include roads, bridges, blacktopping, upgradation of road, Water supply schemes, he added.

Highlighting their importance, the DDC said that all these projects are public oriented and would change the overall development scenario of the district on their completion.

“The executing agencies have been directed to complete the     Projects on priority basis and for their timeline completion the status of work is being reviewed on daily basis,” he added.

Referring to the recent visit of Lieutenant Governor Girish Chandra Murmu to the district, the DDC said that he (Lt Governor) too stressed on the completion of the projects for these being highly public oriented and their timely completion being the primary goal of UT Administration.
