Pulwama : Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police arrested a drug peddler in Pulwama and recovered psychotropic substance from his possession.
Officers from PS Pulwama at a checkpoint established near Govt. Girls Hr. Sec. School Pulwama intercepted a vehicle (Tata Magic Auto) bearing registration number JK13B-5184 driven by Salman Ahmad Mir son of Mohd Abdullah resident of Tenghard Pulwama. During search, 05 bottles of Codeine Phosphate was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody. Vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 119/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Pulwama and further investigation has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
