Budgam: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested 02 drug peddlers in Budgam and recovered psychotropic substance from their possession.
Officers from Police Station Budgam at a checkpoint established at Dafpora Nasrullahpora intercepted 02 persons riding a Scooty bearing registration number JK01H-0789. They have been identified as Javaid Ahmad Dar son of Abdul Rahman Dar resident of Nasrullahpora and Ijaz Ahmad Khan son of Mohd Amin Khan resident of Dafpora Nasrullahpora. During checking, officers were able to recover 55 bottles of codeine phosphate from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody. The Scooty used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 256/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Budgam and further investigation has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighborhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
