Baramulla: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested two drug peddlers in Baramulla and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
Officers led by SHO PS Pattan alongwith incharge PP Palhalan under the supervision of SDPO Patatn arrested one drug peddler identified as Nisar Ahmad Dar son of Gh Rasool Dar resident of Rengi Pattan and recovered 200 grams of charas from his possession. Similarly, a police party of PS Kunzer under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg arrested one drug peddler identified as Mohd Jehangir Bhat son of Gh Nabi Bhat resident of Mangloora Kunzer. During checking, officers were able to recover 175 grams of charas from his possession. They have been shifted to respective police stations where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in respective Police Stations and further investigation set into motion.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
