BARAMULLA: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested two drug peddlers in Baramulla and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
Officers from Police Station Pattan during the routine patrolling at Hanjiwara Pattan intercepted two persons identified as Abdul Rasheed Lone son of Mohd Subhan Lone resident of Hanjiweera Bala and Sayar Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Rahman Bhat resident of Wagum Pulwama. During checking, officers were able to recover 20 grams of Brown Sugar and a weighing instrument from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Pattan and further investigation has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
