BUDGAM: Police in Budgam have arrested 06 persons & seized 06 vehicles involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals.
Officers from Police Station Khansahib have arrested 06 persons & seized six vehicles (Tippers) involved in illegal extraction and transportation of clay at Samsan Waterihail. They have been identified as Bashir Ahmed Bhat son of Noor Mohammad Bhat, Tariq Ahmad Dar son of Assadullah Dar and Mohammad Shahid Ganie son of Ab Ahad all residents of Sholipora and Bilal Ahmed Mir son of Ab Rashid Mir resident of Jawalapora and Riyaz Ahmed Bhat son of Ghulam Qadir, Javiad Ahmed Chopan son of Mohammad Shuban Chopan both residents of Hardiwael. They have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 194/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Khansahib and further investigation have been initiated.
Police requests the people not to indulge in illegal mining activities from any Nallah as it is the violation of Government rules. Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
