NEW DELHI: A PIL in the Supreme Court has challenged the constitutional validity of Section 8(3) of the Representation of People Act that has led to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification as an MP following his conviction in a defamation case.
The petitioner contended that the automatic disqualification of people’s representatives after conviction is illegal.
