PDP MLC’s nephew, engineering student joins militant ranks in Kashmir

SHOPIAN: One more youth from the volatile south Kashmir has joined militant ranks.

As per reports a youth identified as Kamran Zahoor who can be seen holding  AK-47 has announced his joining into militant ranks via social media.

Kamran is a resident of Shadad area in Karewa area of  south Kashmir’s Shopian district.

Kamran was a B,Tech Student and is also a relative of PDP MLC from Shopian, Zaffar Ahmed Manhas.

Kamran went missing a few days ago after which the family looked for him everywhere and today his picture in which he can be seen holding an AK-47 appeared on social media.

He has reportedly joined the homegrown militant organisation Hizbul Mujahideen.

South Kashmir districts have witnessed a surge in youth joining the Militant ranks after the killing of young commander Burhan Wani in 2016.

Despite army’s  ‘Operation All Out’ and intensifying the anti militancy operations, the local Militancy is on rise.

Kashmir  has seen large number of youth picking up arms since an armed insurgency began against the Indian rule in 1988.
