‘Payam-e-Ramadhan’ festival held at KU’s South Campus

ANANTNAG:  A day-long ‘Payam-e-Ramadhan’ festival was held at South Campus, University of Kashmir.

The festival was organised to enlighten the participants about the message of the holy month of Ramadhan.

More than 100 participants including students from various departments, faculty and non-teaching staff attended the programme, which also provided a platform to the students to showcase their talent.

The programme started  with the recitation of Quranic verses by Dr. M. A Runiyal. 

Dr Ibrahim Ahmad Mir, faculty member, threw light on the role of holy Quran in igniting the spirit of love, compassion and brotherhood among people. He highlighted the benefits of fasting during Ramadhan.

The students in large numbers participated in Husn-i- Naat, Husn-i-Qirat, while  few students also gave a brief account of Payam-e-Ramadhan. Dr Rukiya, Dr Abid Hussain, Dr Shabir Hussain and Dr Mubashir Ahmad recited Naat, Qirat and also highlighted the philosophy of Ramadhan. 

Director, South Campus, Dr Mukhtar Ahmad Khanday delivered the concluding remarks in which he highlighted how the holy month of Ramadhan imparts the teaching of compassion for others in people and makes them work for the welfare of fellow-beings.

Assistant Dean Students Welfare, Dr. Javaid Iqbal Bhat, conducted proceedings of the programme.
