JAMMU: He said that India has been extending a hand of friendship and wanted talks with the neighbouring country but it never responded in positive and always “backtracked” from its promises.

Condemnation of Pulwama attack by United Nations Security Council (UNSC) and its assertion to bring the culprits to justice indicates that a strong consensus is getting developed against militancy and that any nation supporting such act can no more be given freedom to nurture terror and killings.

This was stated by former deputy chief minister and BJP leader Kavinder Gupta while making a scathing attack on Kashmir-based political parties, “which have not come openly against the Pulwama attack and are more concerned for those raising anti-India slogans and trying to communalize the peaceful atmosphere in the state”.

Gupta said that world today stands with India and favours action against Pakistan, while NC, PDP and separatists in valley advocate holding talks with it, which clearly expose them for their “callous approach” towards the killing of CRPF men.

He said that India has been extending a hand of friendship and wanted talks with the neighbouring country but it never responded in positive and always “backtracked” from its promises.

“The entire world knows that AtalBehari Vajpayee, during his tenure as PM of India, made serious efforts to create cordial relation with Pakistan and took lead by going to Islamabad in Karvan-e-Aman bus but the result was Kargil war,” Gupta said.

He said that the present Prime Minister NarendraModi too made honest efforts to have peace with Pakistan for which talks were held but “Neither did Pakistan dismantle militant training camps and launching pads nor it took action against the heads of militant outfits.”

Gupta said that the neighbouring nation doesn’t understand the language of peace.
“No talks should be held with Pakistan until and unless it stops aiding militants,” Gupta said.
