SRINAGAR: Over a dozen persons were injured, one of them critically, in violent protests in Pattan area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday over the rape of a three-year-old girl in Sumbal area of Bandipora last week.
Reports said that massive protests erupted in Chenbal area of Pattan today morning with youth clashing with the security forces.
Peoples Conference (PC) chairman Sajad Gani Lone also condemned the use of forces against the protesters.
“Use of pellets against protestors protesting the rape of a 3 year old girl goes against all norms. Has the JK Police forgotten non Lethal crowd control. Heaven’s sake. Understand there is anger and anger in such a case is normal,” Lone said in a tweet.
