Orientation program for Camp Directors deployed for SAJY held at TRC

SRINAGAR: The Divisional Administration Kashmir today held an orientation programme for 45 Camp Directors  deployed for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SAJY), 2022 at TRC Conference Hall Dal Gate Srinagar.

On the occasion, the Camp directors were briefed by various  Head of Departments regarding the present status of preparation and schedule of works to be taken for SAJY by their respective departments.

Each HOD gave work wise powerpoint presentations on different works including completed works and other ongoing projects that shall be completed during this week for smooth conduct of yatra and to facilitate  yatries.

While CE PW(R&B) Department Kashmir informed about construction of culvert, roads, footpaths and sheds, the CE, KPDCL presented about availability of electricity and DG sets besides installation of transformers and reparation transmission lines at Camp sites to ensure uninterrupted electricity to yatries and service providers.

Similarly, an officer of PHE (Jal Shakti) deptt presented overall scenario of supply lines and  availability of drinking water facilities at yatra camps. It also informed about the plan to supply water through tankers at feasible locations.

 Director Urban Local Bodies Kashmir and senior officer of   Tourism Deptt briefed the Camp directors regarding the preparation by their respective departments like providing tents, displaying messages, signages and sanitation along the routes and transit Camps.

Moreover, concerned officers of Animal Husbandry informed about the registration of horses, mules and ponies through RIFD card to provide services to pilgrims and transportation of goods and essentials during the period of Annual Amarnath Yatra besides establishment of veterinary hospitals for treatment of animals. 

Meanwhile, Labour Commissioner J&K briefed about the registration process  of  labourers to achieve a target of 35000  labourers to provide services  as the number of yatries expected to visit Holy Cave will be more than previous years. He informed that registration camps are being  conducted across Kashmir Valley to register labourers in a time bound manner.

Further, Director FCS&CA Kashmir informed about the arrangements made to ensure an abundant quantity of essential items including ration, LPG, Kerosene besides other necessary requirements.

CEO Sonamarg Development Authority and CEO Pahalgam Development Authority detailed the status of overall sanitation plan and disposal of waste at different stations besides installation of mobile toilet facilities, display of welcome messages and availability of essential services.

On the occasion, AD Information also  briefed the officers about the preparation regarding installation of PA system and deployment of staff to facilitate yatries.
