UDHAMPUR: A day long online guidance and career counseling session for counsellors, student champions, and students was today organized by District Administration Udhampur under the supervision of District Development Commissioner, Dr. Piyush Singla- the Chairman of District level committee.
At the outset, Director Transform foundation, Roopali Mehra gave an online presentation in which senior officers of education departments, counselors, students and career mentors participated.
The session was chaired by Chief Planning Officer, Rajeev Bhushan, who said that the aim of the online career counselling scheme is to make youth employable and connect education to employment.
Director Transform briefed the methodology to be adopted by the students to get maximum benefit of the scheme which exposés them to maximum number of career opportunities available in the market. Various students, students’ champions and counsellors participated online from remote locations.
During the session, various issues and obstacles were discussed for effective implementation of the process of career guidance and counseling at grassroots level in the district.
Pertinently two districts Ganderbal & Udhampur are selected on pilot basis for implementation of online career guidance scheme.
CEO, Udhampur P.D Sharma thanked all the participants and representatives and directed the heads of Higher Secondary and High School to extend full cooperation for the better future of the students.
