Night Temperature Rises Slightly Across the Valley, Srinagar Records 0.4 Degrees C

Srinagar: The temperature across the valley rose slightly on the last night compared to previous nights in Kashmir, providing a bit of respite in cold conditions .  

According to MeT’s daily parameter, the temperature rose slightly during last night at different places in the valley with Srinagar recording temperature above freezing point i.e., 0.4 degrees Celsius which on the previous night was -1.3 degrees Celsius. 

Similarly, the other places in the valley also saw relief in cold conditions with temperature rising slightly across Kashmir last night.

Pahalgam recorded -1.0 degrees Celsius last night which on the previous night was -3.3 degrees Celsius.  Gulmarg also saw a rise in temperature after mercury settled at -1.0 degrees Celsius which on the previous night was at -1.8 degrees Celsius. 

Similarly, the Qazigund and Kupwara also witnessed a rise in temperature last night as mercury settled at -0.3 degrees C and -0.4 degrees C, respectively. 

Regarding the prediction for snowfall in J&K and Ladakh, a MeT official said that light to moderate snowfall is expected during 4-5th Dec. It was further added that there would be dry weather in both UTs till third December.
