SRINAGAR: National Conference on Saturday condemned the “outrageous remarks” and threatening of Kashmir journalists by the BJP leader and MLA Choudhary Lal Singh, asking the police to take congnisance.

“National Conference strongly condemns the outrageous remarks and threatening of Kashmiri journalists by BJP Leader and MLA Chaudhry Lal Singh. This merits immediate cognisance by the @JmuKmrPolice. We hope the law isn’t subverted,” said a party spokesperson on Twitter.

The party vice president Omar Abdullah said the killing of Rising Kashmir chief editor Shujaat Bukhari was now being used as a tool to threaten journalists.

Singh while addressing a press conference in Jammu yesterday warned Kashmir journalists of “Shujaat-like incident” for what he said creating “wrong narrative regarding the Kathua rape-and-murder case.”
