MVD Kulgam organizes debate competition on ‘Road Safety’

KULGAM: As a part of ongoing ‘32nd Road Safety Month-2021′, a debate competition themed ‘Road Safety’ was today organised by Motor Vehicle Department Kulgam at Ayesha Ali Academy Kanipora, here.

The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat was the chief guest on the occasion.

While addressing the gathering, the DDC urged the students to adopt road safety measures apart from spreading word about the need for adhering to traffic rules.

He said that proper adherence to traffic norms can prevent fatal road accidents to a large extent and help in saving precious lives.

Around 40 students took part in the event and put forth their views regarding various aspects of the road safety. The students laid emphasis on self-awareness towards road safety and duties of government and citizens to initiate steps to eliminate fatalities due to road accidents.

The winners were awarded with the prizes and merit certificates on the occasion.

Among others Additional SP Kulgam, Mohd Yousuf Bhat, District Treasury Officer, Assistant Regional Transport Officer, District Information Officer were present on the occasion.
