Follow Traffic Rules or face Stern Action: ARTO Anantnag
ANANTNAG: Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) Anantnag has intensified enforcement drive against the instances of overloading, without seat belt, without Helmet and other violations under the Motor Vehicle Act and Central Motor Vehicle Rules.
Acting under the guidance of District Development Commissioner Anantnag, a team of MVD officials and Traffic conducted a special enforcement drive from Khanabal to Ashajipora Road.
During the Enforcement drive, around 120 Vehicles including School Buses, passenger vehicles, Tata Magic were checked for different offences viz. Route Permit violations, Overloading, Over speeding, driving without Seat Belt and without SLD.
Dozens of vehicles were black listed and dozens were challaned/ compounded by traffic officials.
Amount of Rs 60000 is expected to be realized from the Challans.
Assistant Regional Transport Officer Anantnag, Dr Mohammad Zubair Lattoo also sensitised the youth about the “MUMKIN” scheme and new LA rules on spot. He further said that the Government has liberalised the permit policy and unemployed youth should come forward and avail this opportunity for earning the livelihood.
