SRINAGAR: Clashes erupted in Bagh-e-Mehtab and Macho area of Srinagar during the ongoing municipal polls on Monday.
Reports said that youth took to streets amid a complete shutdown and pelted the forces deployed near railway bridge for the conduct of municipal polls.
They said the forces responded by firing teargas shells, triggering further clashes.
Meanwhile, 3.5 per cent polling was recorded in three wards of Srinagar until 11 am.
