Want to assure farmers that MSP, govt procurement of produce will continue: Modi

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said the scale and speed of work on infrastructure projects now is unprecedented while inaugurating projects in Bihar.

“Compared to pre-2014, highway construction pace is now more than double, money spent on it is almost five times more” he added Modi.

Modi also spoke about the farm reform bills passed by Parliament and termed them the need of 21st-century India.

“I want to make it clear these laws are not against agriculture ‘mandi’, it will continue like it always has,” the PM on farm bills.

PM Modi noted that farmers were already getting better price for their produce in several states after his government brought farm ordinances.

“I want to assure farmers that minimum support price, govt procurement of their produce will continue,” he said.
