3.50 lac plants to be planted this season in district
KULGAM: A meeting of officers was today held under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat to review the modalities for JK-green drive and an afforestation action plan for upcoming plantation season.
During the meeting the concerned informed that 3.50 lac plants of conifer, broad leaved, fruit bearing and ornamental plants will be planted in the upcoming plantation season in Kulgam.
On the occasion, emphasis was laid to cover all empty patches and spaces in the district by planting different varieties of plants.
The DDC directed all heads of the institutions to contact the concerned department for early covering of the empty spaces in their respective institutions to make these patches green.
The meeting was attended by JD-Planning, DFO territorial, DSP,-HQ, CAHO, CAO, CHO, CMO, Principals of various institutions, besides representatives of Social forestry, Soil conservation and other concerned officers.
