Urges people to cooperate with admin to fight COVID-19

BANDIPORA: The District Magistrate, Bandipora, Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza toady called for strict implementation of restrictions imposed in the district as a precautionary measure to prevent spread of Corona virus infection.

The District Magistrate inspected various localities of the district to inspect the implementation of restrictions put in place.

Enroute the DM urged people to stay indoors for their safety and directed Police authorities and law enforcing agencies to implement restrictions in letter and spirit and don’t allow people to assemble.

He appealed the general public to cooperate with the administration and ensure strict adherence to the restriction and said the violation of restriction orders will be treated as a criminal act and violators will be prosecuted.

Mirza said that adequate arrangements have been put in place to ensure that people don’t face any problem with regard to the supply of essential commodities. He said the administration has already designated officers to coordinate on ground with field officers to ensure hassle free distribution of ration across the district.

Earlier in an order issued late Sunday, The District Magistrate ordered closure of all business establishments and movement of public transport and also bans movement, assembly, gathering or procession of more than 03 persons including in towns and villages.

According to the order no public and private transport will play in the District till March 31st. However, the transport meant for essential supplies and vehicles of employees of essential services and those involved in the measures to contain the virus will only be allowed on showing their identity cards and certificates and passes issued by the District Administration.

The District Magistrate had also directed complete shutdown of all private and public business establishments except dealing with essential services and commodities as notified in the Government order No: 60-FCS&CA of 2020, dated: 22.03.2020.
