Anantnag: A brief exchange of firing took place between militants and the government forces during CASO in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Saturday.
“Exchange of #fire between #securityforces & #terrorists at #Anantnag. Area under #cordon. Details shall follow,” police wrote on Twitter.
Reports said that a joint team of Army’s 19RR and SOG Anantnag launched a search operation in Dehruna area today morning.
A senior police officer said that there was some initial exchange of fire with militants when the forces approached the suspected spot following reliable inputs about the presence of some militants there.
He said that firing has stopped from both sides but they have tightened the cordon and have sealed all exit points.
