Awantipora: A militant was killed in a brief shootout with the army in Rinzipora area of Awantipora in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday.
According to news agency GNS, the militants, believed to be three in number, attacked a patrolling party of army’s 55 RR near Rinzipora today morning.
The army, it said, retaliated, leading to a brief shootout in which one militant was killed.
The identity of the slain militant is yet to be ascertained, it said.
Quoting sources, the report said that two other militants managed to escape from the spot.
