Mehbooba congratulates forces for ‘exercising restraint’ during Law and Order duties

SRINAGAR: Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Friday congratulated Police and Central Reserve Police Forces in Kashmir for ‘exercising restraint during Law and Order duties.’

A police spokesperson said Mehbooba said this during her visit to district Police Line Kupwara in north Kashmir.  Mehbooba was accompanying Rajnath Singh during his tour to the frontier areas.

“While addressing the jawans, CM congratulated the Police & CRPF for exercising restraint during performance of L&O duties. On the occasion HM and CM also extended their warm wishes to jawans for the pious month of Ramadhan,” the spokesperson said.

He said that Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta, and MOS in PMO Dr Jatinder Singh was also accompanying the union home minister.

“On this occasion the dignitaries led by Union Home Minister paid floral tributes to the police martyrs at the martyr’s gallery,” he said.

“Thereafter the dignitaries jointly addressed the jawans of Police and CRPF at DPL Kupwara while paying rich tributes to the role of martyrs in ensuring peaceful future for the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

During the visit Chief Secretary J&K, DGP J&K, ADGP Security J&K, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, IGP Kashmir, DIG NKR Baramulla, DC Kupwara, SSP Kupwara and other senior officers from civil and Police administration besides  senior officers of other paramilitary forces were also present., the spokesperson  added.
