Mega Gram Sabhas held in twin Aspiration blocks of Kulgam to formulate, finalize ABDP

KULGAM: Mega Gram Sabhas were today held in twin Aspirational Blocks Viz. Manzgam and D.K.Marg to formulate and finalize the Aspirational Block Development plan of Rs 1 crore for each Block under the Aspirational Block Development Programme (ABDP).

The programme was attended by PRI members and locals of these blocks.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat also remained present during the proceedings of Mega Gram Sabha at Manzgam, here.

ACR, SDM Noorabad, ACD, Tehsildar, BDO and other officers were also present.

The DC during the proceedings of Mega Gram Sabha impressed upon the participants to formulate and finalise the plan as per the set guidelines.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that Aspirational Block Development Programme (ABDP) has been rolled out with an aim to ensure expeditious improvement in the socio-economic status of these aspirational blocks and the programme is aimed at achieving holistic development of the blocks selected as Aspirational Blocks.   

He added that 2 blocks in Kulgam have been selected as Aspirational Blocks based on their socio-economic backwardness on 21 parameters/ indicators covering sectors like poverty, education, health & infrastructure in consultation with NITI Aayog.

Similarly, Mega Gram Sabha was also held at Block D.K.Marg to formulate and finalise the Aspirational Block Development Plan.

Present during the proceeding were ACD who is also Nodal officer for implementation of ABDP.

ACP, BDO and other officers were also present on the occasion.
