FCS&CA recovers Rs 21200 fine from erring traders at Ramban

RAMBAN: Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Department has launched an extensive market checking drive to check prices of mutton, poultry, fruits, vegetables, milk and milk products,  during the ongoing Ramzan.

 The enforcement squad led by Assistant Director, FCS&CA, Dr. Nasir Ahmed Butt,  today inspected 50 business establishments during market checking in Masjid Market, Bowli Bazaar, Main Bazaar, Bus Stand and Maitra.  

During the drive, one meat seller was booked and his shop was sealed for overcharging while selling meat @ Rs 500.00 per kg. The enforcement team also realized a fine of Rs 21200 from other  defaulters.  

The AD, FCS&CA directed shopkeepers especially vegetable & fruit vendors to refrain from overcharging and display the rate lists in their shops to avoid action under extant rule and law.  He said that shops of habitual offenders shall be black listed and won’t be allowed to run.
