SRINAGAR: The students of Kashmir University Zakura campus on Thursday staged a protest against the killing of scholar-turned-militant Manan Wani and his associate in a gunfight with the government forces in Shatgund village of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
An eyewitness said the students assembled on the campus and raised pro-freedom slogans.
The students also offered funeral prayers in absentia for the slain militants.
Wani, a resident of Tikipora Sogam, and his associate Ashiq Hussain Zargar of Tulwari Langate were killed in a gunfight in Shatgund earlier today.
