MD SIDCO inspects safety protocols in Industrial Complexes

JAMMU: Managing Director, SIDCO, Ravinder Kumar, today conducted an extensive tour of Industrial Complexes Bari Brahmana and Samba to ensure that the units engaged in the manufacturing of essential items such as Pharmaceuticals, Packaging, Food items, Insecticides are working in a safe, conducive  environment and are adopting all the safety protocols in view of COVID-19 outbreak.

 He inspected M/s Lupin Pharmaceuticals, M/s Nav Bharat Flour Mills and M/s Ultimate Flexipack in Industrial Complex Bari Brahmana and M/s. Cadila Pharmaceuticals, M/s Insecticides (India), M/s Shivalik Crops at I. G. C.  Samba.

The MD inaugurated decontamination cum sanitization tunnel at M/s Lupin Pharmaceuticals, Industrial Complex, Bari Brahmana and appreciated various steps taken by the company management in this regard.

He distributed triple layer masks among sanitation, security and essential services staff of SIDCO and staff and labourers working in essential units. He also distributed masks, food items viz Atta, Dal, Cooking Oil and Nutri soya packets among the needy and destitute migrant labourers, who are presently residing inside the estates.

He lauded the efforts of the industrialists in maintaining the supply lines in the condensed and difficult environment that has emerged due to COVID-19 outbreak. He was impressed with the safety standards maintained by such units with all the workers being sanitized at the entrance, wearing masks all the time and maintaining social distance. He exhorted upon all staff of SIDCO and units for mandatory use of cotton or cloth masks keeping in view its reusability. These masks are now being made by Handloom Corporation, KVIB entrepreneurs and various self help groups and SIDCO will facilitate in masks availability. Use of masks has already been made mandatory by the J&K Government.

He also asked staff of SIDCO and Units to maintain daily contact diary, as it will help administration in contact tracing, if any such case comes in the notice in the industrial estates. He directed units to keep the daily roaster of the body temperature and general health of all the workers so that any eventuality could be traced and nipped in bud. The industrialists expressed their gratitude for the cooperation extended by SIDCO and informed MD about the difficulties being faced in the inter-district movement by their employees. He assured to take up the matter with the concerned authorities.

Later, Ravinder Kumar went around the complexes to take stock of the cleanliness and fogging/fumigation drive undertaken by SIDCO.  He was informed by GM Jammu that SIDCO has taken sanitation and sanitization on priority and regular cleaning, fumigation and fogging is done to contain communicable diseases including COVID-2019 inside all industrial estates.

He was accompanied by General Manager, T C Thakur;  SE, Pankaj Gupta and other field officers of  SIDCO.
